3 Simple Steps to Fix QuickBooks Has Encountered a Problem Sending your Usage Data

Step 1: Verify your System Date and Time

This step will work with all the Windows editions.

  • Click on the date and time at the bottom right-hand side corner and make sure the date and time must be correct. If not,
  • Press (Windows+R) keys together and the Run box will pop out
  • Type Control or Control Panel  in a run box
  • Click on Clock and Region
  • Select Date and Time
  • Click on Change date and time…
  • Change the time and date according to your time zone and click OK
  • Now click on Change time zone… make sure your time zone should be correct it may cause this problem.

Step 2: Ensure that Accountant’s Copy doesn’t exists

If you’ve have accountant’s copy exists onto your QuickBooks, ensure that it has all the restrictions removed.

To remove the restrictions:

  • Go to the File menu
  • Select Send Company File > Accountant’s Copy
  • Select Remove Restrictions…
  • Now follow on-screen instructions

Now close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. If the same problem still exists, please follow the below steps.

Step 3: Delete any Online Transactions that are ready to Send

  • Go to the Edit menu
  • Choose Find…(Ctrl+F)
  • Click on the Advanced tab
  • In the Filter box, choose Detail Level and select Summary only
  • Choose Online Status, from the drop-down menu select Online to send
  • Choose Posting Status, select Either
  • Now click on Find to the top right corner

Now you can see the results:

  • If you find any banking transactions, complete their processing.
  • If you find a paycheck you will need to delete them. Ensure to print it, so you can recreate, with the same information.
