There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader (10:10) in QuickBooks Desktop

7 Simple Steps to Fix :There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader 10:10 in QuickBooks Desktop

Step 1: Update QuickBooks Desktop

  • Open QuickBooks Desktop
  • Go to Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop…
  • Click on Update Now(To the top)
  • Click Get Updates
  • It may take some time to update the QuickBooks Desktop

Step 2: Download the Latest Update of Adobe Acrobat/Reader

  • Close QuickBooks Desktop
  • Open Adobe Reader
  • Go to the Help > Check for Updates
  • Click on the Download and then Install
  • If asks, click on Yes to allow the permissions
  • Once completed click on Close

Now try to create/view the previous reconciliation report. If the same problem still exists, please proceed further with the below steps.

Step 3: Disable Adobe Protected Mode at Startup

Adobe Protected Mode provides an additional layer of security to view the PDF. It may cause a problem while opening the reconciliation report from QuickBooks Desktop, it’s better to disable this function temporarily.

To disable this function:

  • Close QuickBooks Desktop
  • Open Adobe Reader
  • Click on Edit > Preferences…
  • Under Categories, go to Security(Enhanced)
  • Uncheck Enable Protected Mode at Startup
  • Then click on Yes to confirm
  • Now click OK

Step 4: Download and Install QuickBooks Tool Hub

  • Download QuickBooks Tool Hub and then go to your download by pressing CTRL+J
  • Under your downloads list click on QuickBooksToolsHub.exe
  • Click Yes to allow this app to make changes
  • Now click on Next to install it and then click Yes again for accepting the license agreement
  • Click on Next and then Install (It may take some time)
  • Once the installation is complete click on Finish
  • Now open QuickBooks Tool Hub (Icon will be available on your desktop)

Step 5: Run Print and PDF Repair Tool

  • Open QuickBooks Tool Hub
  • Go to Program Problems > QuickBooks Print & PDF Repair Tool
  • It may take some time to repair
  • Once it’s completed. Try to print again in QuickBooks

Now try to create/view the previous reconciliation report again.

Step 6: Uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader

  • Press Windows+R keys together to open the Run command
  • Type Control and click OK to open the Control Panel
  • Click on Programs > Programs and Features
  • Make a double click on Adobe Reader
  • Click on Yes to uninstall it
  • Now follow on screen instructions to uninstall

Step 7: Reinstall Adobe Acrobat Reader

  • Go to the https://get.adobe.com/reader/
  • Click on the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
  • Now click on the installtion file to install Adobe Reader
  • Then follow the on screen instruction to install it.

Once it’s installed, try to view the previous reconciliation report again in QuickBooks Desktop
