Quicken Error CC-901 or CC-902 or CC-903 occur when downloading the transaction from Capital One using the one-step update. You need to reauthorize the account from the bank.

Important: This post helps you to authorize your bank account with capital one.

Description of each error code

Quicken Error CC-901: You may face Quicken error CC-901 in one step update summary because of the expired credential in Quicken. You need to update your Capital One login credentials to fix this issue.

Quicken Error CC-902: This error code occurs when you switched to another connection method from the bank. You need to authorize the accounts to avail the services with a new method.

Quicken Error CC-903: This error arises when you’re trying to update your accounts using one step update with incorrect credentials. You need to refresh your bank credentials to fix this error code permanently.

Simple steps to fix Quicken Error CC-901 or CC-902 or CC-903

If you have multiple accounts in Quicken make sure to check them all if they’re already added into your Quicken before authorizing the accounts.

Deactivate the account that has Quicken error cc-902

  • Go Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • From the Account List click on the EDIT to choose an account that is in question
  • Go to Online Services tab
  • Click on Deactivate and then Yes to confirm
  • Click on Done

Reactivate the deactivated account

  • Go back to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click on EDIT for the deactivated account
  • Select the Online Services tab
  • Click on Setup Now…
  • On next screen Capital One bank requires you to authorize your accounts
  • Click Next and then Sign in
  • On the next screen type your bank username and password

Quicken Error CC-901 or CC-902 or CC-903

  • Click Sign In
  • Now Quicken will show you the list of the accounts that are associated with your bank
  • Make a check for each of your account  and click Authorize (See an image below)

  • Once you click on authorize Quicken will start authorizing your account with the bank
  • Later it’ll show your bank account information make sure to LINK your bank account instead of adding it back.

  • Click Next 
  • Once account added successfully click on Finish
  • You’ll see the success window now.
  • Try to do one step update again and error will no longer there.

If reauthorize process is unsuccessful make sure to check your bank credentials. It happens because your accounts are transferred to the new connection method with the bank but you’re typing the wrong username and password.

Quicken Error CC-901 or CC-903

Deactivate the account, that is in question

  • Go Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • From the Account List click on the EDIT to choose an account that is in question
  • Go to Online Services tab
  • Click on Deactivate and then Yes to confirm
  • Click on Done

Reactivate the deactivated account

  • Go Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • From the Account List click on the EDIT to choose an account that is in question
  • Go to Online Services tab
  • Click on Setup Now…
  • Type the username and password for your bank and click Connect
  • In the process of connecting the bank account, Quicken will show you the account information make sure to LINK the account instead of adding it again. (See an image below)
