5 Simple Steps to Fix When QuickBooks is Unable to Send your Email to Outlook

Step 1: Ensure about Admin Permissions

You need to make sure that QuickBooks isn’t set to run automatically.

  • Close QuickBooks Desktop
  • Make a right-click on QuickBooks Desktop icon and choose Properties
  • Select the Compatibility tab
  • Uncheck Run this program as an administrator. If this option is grayed out click on Change settings for all users to uncheck it.
  • Then click Apply and OK

Step 2: Edit your Email Preferences in QuickBooks Desktop

  • Open QuickBooks and go to Edit > Preferences
  • Select Send Forms and under My Preferences tab
  • Choose Outlook and click OK

Now send the test email from QuickBooks. If the same problem still exists.

  • Go to Edit > Preferences
  • Choose to Send Forms. Under My Preferences tab, choose WebMail or QuickBooks E-mail and click OK
  • This will help to turn off Preferences
  • Click Send Forms again, click on My Preferences tab.
  • Choose Outlook and click OK
  • Close QuickBooks Desktop

Now restart your computer and send the test mail using QuickBooks.

Step 3: Repair your MAPI32.dll

  • Press Windows+E together to open File Explorer
  • Click on This PC on the left pane
  • Click on Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System32
  • Type fixmapi.exe to the top right search field(See an image below)
  • Make a double click on fixmapi and follow the on-screen instructions

Once the repair process is completed. You can restart the computer and try to send the email again.

Step 4: Ensure Internet Explorer Mail Preferences

  • Press Windows+R keys together to open Run Command
  • Type inetcpl.cpl to open Internet Properties and click OK
  • Select Programs tab
  • Click Set Programs
  • Click Set your default programs
  • Choose the mail service that you want to use
  • Close the Settings window and open QuickBooks again

Step 5: Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks for Windows

Uninstall QuickBooks

  • Press Windows+R keys together and a Run command
  • Type appwiz.cpl and click OK
  • Under Programs and Features select QuickBooks and click Uninstall
  • Click Yes, If prompts you
  • Click Next and choose Remove
  • Choose Next and then Remove
  • It may take some time to uninstall QuickBooks from your computer
  • Click Finish, Once installation wizard successfully uninstalled QuickBooks

Reinstall QuickBooks

You can visit the official QuickBooks download page and reinstall your product on the computer.

Also, you can reinstall QuickBooks using a Clean Install Tool. It will help to resolve this issue in your QuickBooks.
