As Quicken helps you to reduce paperwork with quick bill pay service, download transaction from the bank, print checks etc. but sometimes Quicken users face some glitches while working with it. You may face Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226 when using online service.

Why does these Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226?

These errors occur when your bank pass the information, that Quicken can’t read. You need to update the information in Quicken to transmit all the information from the financial institution. If you’re facing these errors follow the below steps to resolve or contact Quicken Support.

5 Simple steps to fix Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

STEP ONE: Make sure Quicken is running with the latest release

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Help > Check for Updates
  • Click Yes if an update is available (Quicken will get up to date automatically)
  • Click OK if it’s already up to date.
  • Try to update the accounts now if the problem still exist proceed with STEP TWO

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

STEP TWO: Click on the account in which you receive any of these error codes.

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Tools > One Step Update Summary
  • Check every account with this OL error is presented
  • Write the account name with the specific OL error code on text application like Notepad, Wordpad
  • Go to each of the accounts which are presented with OL  errors and Click on the gear icon at the right-hand side
  • Click Update Now (Ctrl+Alt+U)

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

If this method helps you to fix any of the OL error that’s great otherwise proceed with STEP THREE.

STEP THREE: Deactivate/Reactivate the account which causing one of these OL Errors

Deactivate Account

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)

  • Click on Edit with each of the accounts at a time which is presented with any of the specific OL error
  • Click on Online Services tab  and  click Deactivated (See an image below)

  • Hit Yes to Confirm
  • Click OK and then Done

Information: Here is the additional steps which we need to follow just to ensure everything is fine with Quicken Data File.

  • Go to File > File Operations > Validate and Repair…

  • Make a check on Validate file and then click OK

  • The validation process will begin (it may take some time to validate, depend on your file size)
  • Once validation completed a DATA_LOG notepad show you the status of the file

Notice: If there any errors found into the Quicken log file (DATA_LOG notepad), try to reach Quicken Customer Serviceotherwise proceed further for resolution.

Reactivate Account

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click on Edit with each of the accounts which are facing OL error issue
  • Click on Online Services tab

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

  • Hit Set up Now…
  • Type the username and password for your financial institution
  • Click Connect
  • In the process of reactivation the account Quicken will pull up your account information. 
  • Make sure to LINK your account instead of adding it again. (See an image below)

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

  • Once account connected try to update each of the accounts from the register manually (Mentioned in STEP TWO)

Information: You may face some of the following Quicken error too.


STEP FOUR: Uninstall & Reinstall Quicken 

  • Press (Windows+R) key from the Keyboard at the same time or right-click on the Start button and select Run.
  • Type appwiz.cpl in the search window

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

  • Program and Features window will open and then look for Quicken
  • Make a single Click on Quicken
  • Click the Uninstall button from top menu

Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226

  • Now follow on Screen instruction to uninstall the Quicken Software
  • Once you have successfully uninstalled Quicken, reinstall it back to the computer via CD or directly from Quicken Website. (If you purchased online you’re fully eligible to get online download).

  • Now try to update the accounts in Quicken

STEP FIVE: Wait 24-48 Business hours

If the problem still exists with Quicken software after following all the above steps. You need to contact the financial institution to fix these OL error codes (Quicken Error OL-220, OL-221, OL-222, OL-223, OL-224, OL-225, OL-226). If the problem doesn’t from their side, we recommend you to contact Quicken Tech Support or wait 24-48 business hours.
