12 Simple Steps to Fix QuickBooks Error -6155, 0

Step 1: Suppress QuickBooks Desktop

You may not be able to open the QuickBooks Desktop. Suppress the QuickBooks Desktop to update the QuickBooks.

  • Press and hold down the Ctrl+Shift keys from the keyboard and make a double click on QuickBooks desktop icon
  • Don’t release the Ctrl+Shift keys until QuickBooks is open on your computer. It will open No Company Open window
  • If QuickBooks Desktop doesn’t start please speak with our experts or if it open, proceed further with the below steps.

Step 2: Update QuickBooks Desktop

  • Open QuickBooks Desktop
  • Then go to Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop
  • Then click on Update Now to the top right corner
  • Now make a check on Reset Update and click Get Updates
  • Once Update is complete, close QuickBooks

Step 3: Download and Run Quick Fix My Program

  • Download and Install QuickBooks Tool Hub
  • Once the program is completely installed
  • Go to Program Problems tab and click on the Quick Fix my Program
  • It may take some time to run
  • Once completed, reopen QuickBooks Desktop

Step 4: Download and Run QuickBooks File Doctor

  • Download QuickBooks Tool Hub and go to your downloads by pressing CTRL+J
  • Under your downloads list click on QuickBooksToolsHub.exe

Step 5: Rename the .ND and .TLG Files

  • Open your QuickBooks company file location C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company File [Default Location]

    For Example, CompanyName.qbw.ND now changes it to CompanyName.qbw.ND.OLD
    CompanyName.qbw.TLG now changes it to CompanyName.qbw.TLG.OLD

  • Make a right-click on the desktop screen and go to New > Folder
  • Now go to your current company file location
  • Make a right-click on the company file and select Copy (Ctrl+C)

  • Now press and hold the Ctrl key, ensure not to leave the Ctrl key until No Company Open Window is on the screen
  • Click Open or Restore an Existing Company
  • Select Open a company file and click Next
  • Browse to the desktop file that you copied in a new folder
  • Then click Open
  • If the file is still unable to open please proceed further with Step 8

Step 7: Download and Run QuickBooks Database Server Manager

  • Download QuickBooks Tools Hub and go to your downloads by pressing CTRL+J
  • Under your downloads list click on QuickBooksToolsHub.exe
  • Click Yes to allow this app to make changes
  • Now click on Next to install it and then click Yes again for accepting the license agreement
  • Click on Next and then Install (It may take some time)
  • Once the installation is complete click on Finish
  • Now open QuickBooks Tool Hub (Icon will be available on your desktop)
  • Under Network Issues tab click on QuickBooks Database Server Manager

Scan your Company File Location

  1. Head over to the ‘Scan Folders’ tab.
  2. Click on Browse and select the folder that stores your company file (.QBW)
  3. Click on ‘OK’ and ‘Start Scan

Step 8: End QuickBooks Tasks from Task Manager

  • Log in as an Administrator in your computer
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open task manager
  • Highlight the first option and press Q from the keyboard to see the QuickBooks Process
  • Then select QuickBooks processes (QBW32.exe, qbupdate.exe and QBDBMgr.exe) and click End Task
  • Now open QuickBooks Company File

  • Press Windows+R keys together to open the Run command
  • Type Control and click OK
  • Select Program > Programs and Features
  • Now choose QuickBooks Desktop from the list and click Uninstall. If asks, click Yes
  • Click Next
  • Choose Repair and click Next
  • Click Repair
  • You may get a Files in use window choose Automatically close and attempt to restart applications and click OK
  • It may take some time to repair QuickBooks
  • Once the repair process is completed click on Finish

Step 10: Uninstall & Reinstall QuickBooks in Selective Startup

  • Press Windows+R keys together from the keyboard and a Run box will come up
  • Now type MSCONFIG into the Run box and click OK
  • Under the General tab, choose Selective startup and ensure that Load startup items option is unchecked
  • Then click OK
  • If prompted, click on Restart
  • Now Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop

Important: Before you uninstall QuickBooks Desktop. Make sure to handy with your product information such as License Number and Product Number. You can find this info by pressing the F2 key or Ctrl+1 key on QuickBooks.

Step 11: Switch back to the Normal Startup Mode

  • Press Windows+R to open a Run window
  • Now type MSCONFIG into the Run box and click OK
  • Select Normal Startup
  • Now click Apply and then OK
  • Now restart your computer

Step 12: Download and Install QuickBooks release manually

  • Close QuickBooks Desktop
  • Go to QuickBooks Download and Update page
  • Then select your Country, Product, and Version
  • Click Search
  • Click on get the latest updates(will be available below to download button). It may take some time to download, depending on the size of the file and internet speed.
  • Once it’s download, make a click on the downloadable file(.exe)
  • If asks, click Yes
  • Now follow on-screen instructions to launch the QuickBooks update.
